Christmas Market 2010 - A Tour of Pennsylvania German Christmas Traditions and Folk Art

December 4 & 5, 2010

Join three local preservation societies - Goschenhoppen Historians, Mennonite Heritage Center, and Schwenkfelder Heritage Center, as they open their facilities for two days of seasonal holiday shopping, special Christmas exhibits, and fun.

The Goschenhoppen Historians, Redmen's Hall, 116 Gravel Pike (Rts. 29 & 63), Green Lane, PA. Selling: Home baked Goodies, Refreshments, vintage Christmas collectibles, Craftsmen's wares, unique historical and Pennsylvania German books. Exhibits: Themed Christmas trees, standard gauge trains in a Christmas Garden setting. The museum features displays of local PA German Christmas folk traditions.

The Mennonite Heritage Center, 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville, PA. Pennsylvania German Folk Art sale, featuring wares of the finest craftsmen as well as holiday exhibits.

The Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center, Seminary Street, Pennsburg, PA. A Father Christmas Boutique - folk art renditions of Santa Claus. Exhibits: Traditional Chritsmas Putz, various authentic items from the craftsmen's bench will be offered for sale.
